HOW EFFICIENT ARE THESE FILTERS?

Flat Throwaway:

Usually made of fiberglass or polyester and is typically the least efficient filter with a MERV rating range of 0 - 1.

Pleated Throwaway:

Usually made of cotton polyester and has a MERV rating range of 3 - 6.

Electrostatic Pleated:

Has a higher efficiency and is better at filtering because it holds a charge that attracts allergens, mold, etc. The MERV rating for these filters is around 8 - 11.

Deep Pleated:

Provides the highest efficiency and uses microglass to enhance its effectiveness. The MERV rating range for these filters is 8 - 10.
