uses for nonwoven fabrics. |

Good mattress = good night™s sleep:
Today's consumers want thicker, yet softer mattresses. A major manufacturer
has combined responsive layers of luxury fibers to create an all-fiber comfort
and support system. Designed to minimize body impressions by supporting an upper
layer of super-soft material with an extremely resilient foundation, this material
improves both mattress durability and comfort.
Improving temperature control:
A manufacturer has produced an engineered nonwoven material that features
thermal insulation properties similar to down. It holds and releases heat to
maintain comfortable body temperature and has superior wear, hand, and drape.
Treating windows beautifully:
A major manufacturer has developed a custom roller shade application that
allows designer fabric to be ironed on to a fusible backing, trimmed, and attached
to a roller. The shade darkens a room while the backing prevents the fabric design
from showing through to the outside.
Keeping the bed bugs away:
Several manufacturers have developed engineered nonwoven fabrics that provide
excellent barrier properties. When used in mattresses, pillows, and bed linens,
they protect allergy sufferers from dust and mites - and are free from potentially
harmful chemical additives.
Replacing Textiles:
Engineered nonwoven fabrics have replaced traditional textiles in many upholstered
furnishings and bedding applications and have achieved high penetration in many
components. |
