Hidden Fees Mean You May Be Paying Much More Than You Think for Rental Shop Towels.
Consider the example shown on the chart: you think that you’re paying $.08/towel (usage charge), then, hidden costs are tacked on!
Replacement charges: many launderers assume you’ll lose or damage towels, generally stimated at 10%, and automatically tack on fees to cover these costs.
Environmental charges: launderers often charge you to help cover their waste management costs, adding a surcharge that can be up to an additional 15%.
The numbers in this example suggest, with hidden charges, your cost could be 25% higher than you expected. Plus, there may be additional charges not shown in the example:
Circulating Inventory: many launderers charge you for an inventory level, not your actual usage. You could be paying for towels you don’t even use.
Uncounted Usage: launderers that charge by usage, not by inventory levels, oftentimes don’t actually count your towels. They weigh them or use some other means of estimating usage. These estimates could be higher than actual usage.
