Jay has significantly contributed to the advancement of nonwovens and continues to do so. His knowledge is commendable and he continues to serve the industry as part of INDA’s Filtration team despite demanding requirements at his regular job. Jay has been an active participant in the Filtration Conferences since 1995 and served as Co-chair 2009- 2011.

The presentation will  discuss the following:

1)  Filtration parameters that are critical to quality (CTQ’s)
2)  Nonwoven components of nanofiber composites
3)  Examples of Air Filtration applications
4)  Examples of Liquid Filtration applications

Fred Lybrand

Fred Lybrand is president of Elmarco, Inc., where he is responsible for Elmarco’s US and European sales and global product development.  He was recruited to open Elmarco’s US presence in 2008; prior to that he had worked with another industrial technology manufacturer and also in finance.  He spent three years serving on the National Academy of Science’s Committee on Forecasting Future Disruptive Technologies where he wrote two reports on that subject.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and his MBA from the University of North Carolina.

The presentation will discuss the following:

1)  What is nanofiber?
2)   How is it manufactured?
3)  Why does it improve product performance?
4)   Is there a down side?
