Which 99.99% Filter Is Better – Type C or Type J
Phillip Winters, Filtration Group, Inc.
IEST Type C and Type J HEPA filters both have an efficiency of 99.99%. The major
difference is the way they are tested. How well do the results from these two methods
agree?

DuPont HMTTM Nanofiber Media in Liquid Filtration
Lawrence Knorr, DuPont
DuPont has recently commercialized its Hybrid Membrane Technology (HMT™) nanofiber filtration media. This media is demonstrating the ability to fill the microfiltration performance gap that exists between classical nonwovens and membranes in liquid filtration applications. In particular, this material shows the potential to create a more ptimizebalance between filtration efficiency, flow and capacity than has existed before. The performance of the HMT™ media in liquid filtration applications will be reviewed.
Antimicrobial Application of Nonwovens in Filtration
Christine Sun, Freudenberg Nonwovens
Antimicrobial products have become common in daily life and continue to increase. In filtration, it was estimated to have an annual growth rate of 10-18% from 2006 to 2010, including air and liquid. In this paper, different antimicrobial technologies will be examined including organic, inorganic and natural methods. An actual case study in pool/spa filtration will be demonstrated.
Fundamentals of Liquid Filtration and Demonstration
Susan Goldsmith, IBR
A demonstration of the fundamental properties of liquid filtration needed to effectively use, design and purchase filters.
