25 years in the plastics industry. Working for several years in custom molding then going to GE Plastics, now SABIC. Time spent at GEP/SABIC has been in all technical roles, including field technical positions, and for the last 12 years, in the Global Application Technology research center, the PPDC or Polymer Processing Development Center in Pittsfield, MA. For the last 8 years, the focus has been on overcoming the technical challenges of converting our portfolio of materials into fiber and non-woven forms.
As a consequence of air pollution deterioration worldwide, the global filtration industry is constantly searching for cost-effective solutions with high separation efficiency, high air flow at low energy consumption for various applications. This presentation will introduce a method that is being developed, that produces high efficiency filter media using bi-component Polypropylene/Polycarbonate fibers.
