Dr. Maxim is the founder, President, and Chairman of Everest Consulting Associates (Princeton Junction, NJ). As such he is not only ultimately responsible for the quality of research and services, but is also a direct technical contributor to client assignments. His areas of expertise include statistics, industrial hygiene, exposure analysis, risk analysis, and economics. Areas of special interest include micro-economic analysis, research planning, mineral (fuel and non-fuel) economics, development economics, remote-sensing applications, risk and exposure analysis, and strategic analysis of health, safety, and environmental issues. Sample assignments include toxicology research on diverse materials including nanomaterials, roofing asphalt, respirable crystalline silica, synthetic vitreous fibers, and asbestos and other natural fibers. He had conducted several studies for companies that involve compliance with the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). He has served as an observer at International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) meetings in Lyon, France on synthetic vitreous fibers and asbestos substitutes.
Dr. Maxim earned his Ph.D. in Operations Research with an emphasis on statistics and optimization at
New York University, School of Engineering and Science. Dr. Maxim also holds a M.M.S. in Management Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology a M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Forestry from Syracuse University, a M.S. in Polymer Chemistry from SUNY-Syracuse and a B.Ch.E. in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College.
A licensed commercial pilot and instrument flight instructor and active in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, he also teaches team coordination training, advanced coastal navigation, celestial navigation, and electronic navigation for mariners.
