The filter buyer is challenged with making smart choices on purchasing filters when confronted with the broad performance and pricing of filters in an efficiency range. Factors like dust loading, electrical rates, and service costs add to the complexity of the buyers' decision. Total Cost of Ownership Diagnostics (TCOD) is a simulation program that uses the performance of a buyer's current filter that in turn is indexed against dust loading performance ASHRAE tests to examine alternative filters and service cycles.
