Student Paper CompetitionSeptember 24-27, 2007 Renaissance Waverly Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia Students are invited to submit a manuscript for the 2007 Student Paper Competition in nonwoven fabric science, engineering and related subjects. Student Paper Registration Form Eligibility: All candidates must be or have recently been active in nonwoven research and be enrolled as a student in a degree program at the time of submission of the manuscript or within the last 12 months of the submission deadline, in order to be eligible for the Award. Manuscript: The paper should describe a study of original research and must be overwhelmingly the work and writing of the student submitting the paper. The length of the manuscript is limited to a maximum of eight pages of text (400 words per page) and it should not have been published or submitted for publication previously. Since the paper will not be published in any proceedings, the manuscript can be revised later for submission to the journal of the candidate’s choice. Selection of Finalists: Manuscripts will be evaluated by members of the Student Awards Committee on the basis of scientific merit and clarity of presentation. Three finalists will be selected and invited to attend the meeting in order to give an oral presentation of their paper. Each finalist will receive a registration fee waiver and will have his or her travel costs to the conference subsidized by up to $500. Evaluation of Finalists: At INTC 2007 (September 24-27, 2007) each finalist will be expected to give a 15 minute presentation, followed by a 5 minute period for questions and answers. A panel of judges will select the recipient of the Award on the basis of the technical merit of the research, the quality of the oral presentation and the finalist’s ability to answer questions and keep on schedule. The Award: The recipient of the Award will be announced at the meeting. The recipient of the Award will receive a certificate and a cash award of $500. Deadline for Submission of Paper: All candidates are required to submit their manuscript to the Student Awards Committee by May 31, 2007. An electronic copy (MSWord) is preferred.
