Paul Marold is Chief Operating Officer for Sontara®, a Jacob Holm Company.  Paul is responsible for all commercial and operational activities globally for Sontara® which is one of the largest spunlacing companies in the world.  Paul has been active with INDA for the past 14 years serving on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and is a past Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Marold has over 30 years of specialty chemical and materials experience with the last 20 being in the nonwovens and filtration sectors.  He has led businesses in specialty chemicals, specialty materials, and regulated segments, such as medical devices and food packaging.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Marold held leadership roles at Clarcor, AAF International, and Ahlstrom.  At Clarcor, Paul led their Clarcor Air Filtration business prior to being tasked with creating a Growth and Innovation organization for the corporation that would leverage Clarcor's many technologies across this diverse filtration company as well as introduce new technologies, such as state-of-the-art nonwoven technologies, that would provide differentiation to the Clarcor product offering.  As Chief Operating Officer at AAF International, Paul was responsible for leading the turn-around of this leader in HVAC filtration products in North and South America.

Prior to his Filtration experience, Paul was Senior Vice-President of the Advanced Nonwovens business of Ahlstrom Oy, leading a global business that had footprints on five continents. During his tenure there, Paul led the Medical Fabrics business, was responsible for all nonwovens operations in North America, and was responsible for the introduction of nonwovens composites and SMS to the company.

Active in the community and an active golfer and cyclist, Mr. Marold is currently involved with the Bike to Beat Cancer and MS Ride events.  In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors for NAFA, the North American Filtration Association, and the Connecticut Business and Industry Association.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University and completed his post-graduate work at INSEAD in their International Executive Programme.

Paul and his wife of 30 years, Luann, have recently relocated to the greater Nashville area with their son and twin daughters.
