Para-aramid Fibre in Space Elevator Challenge

Folks in the nonwovens industry know how critical fibers are to creating their fabrics. The right fiber could make all the difference in the world. Teijin is hoping their Technora para-aramid fiber makes the difference in a cool space elevator challenge organized by the Japan Space Elevator Association (did you know there was such an association?). Imagine an elevator running on a cable from the Earth into space. Sounds pretty fantastic, doesn’t it? 25 teams will be competing in the ‘racing event’ for mock elevators this week.
