Filtration 2006 Conference to Highlight Nanofiltration, Academic Research and Product Showcases

Booth sales are strong for the largest gathering of the filtration industry in the world, November 28-30 in Philadelphia

September 8, 2006 — CARY, N.C. — The world’s largest filtration event — Filtration 2006 International Conference & Exposition – will bring thousands of executives from the world of filtration to Philadelphia, Pa., November 28-30.

In addition to more than 100 exhibitors from all links in the filter supply chain, an extensive three-day Conference Program will cover diverse aspects of filtration technology, new products and research.

INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, the organizer of the annual event, expects close to 2000 attendees from 30 countries to gather in Philadelphia for Filtration 2006 to network, attend the Conference and walk the aisles of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

“Filtration 2006 will allow the filtration industry to see the latest new products and technology touching all aspects of the business,” says Filtration 2006 Committee chair Robert Burkhead, of Blue Heaven Technologies. “It is a chance for anyone involved in this industry to see the latest developments from suppliers around the world.”

"The Filtration 2006 Conference will provide insight into some of the latest technical developments in filtration from some of the industry’s leading companies and research institutions,” adds INDA technical director Cos Camelio. "The annual Filtration Conference is the best place in the world this year for filtration executives to learn about the technical developments that will continue to drive this business in the 21st Century."

Highlighting the three-day Conference program will be the November 29 keynote presentation on “Nanosafety in Nanotechnologies,” by Dr. Antonietta Maria Gatti, of the Laboratory of Biomaterials, Dept. of Neurosciences, University Of Modena & Reggio Emilia, Modena, Italy. Dr. Gatti will discuss the novel technique that has been developed to detect, photograph, measure and chemically analyze inorganic debris in biological specimens.

Another highlight of the Conference program will be the Product Showcase on Wednesday,, November 29. A host of suppliers will speak on new products, services and technologies available to the filtration market. A similar Research Showcase will be held on Thursday, November 30, highlighting the latest research and development information from the world’s leading research facilities.

Among the other topics being covered in the three-day Filtration 2006 Conference:

• Current Academic Research, focusing on filter developments at leading North America research facilities.

• Separate Tutorials on Air Filtration and Liquid Filtration that will cover the fundamentals of technologies and products for both applications.

• Following the Wednesday morning keynote presentation, a session on Respiratory Filtration will feature papers on, among other topics, NIOSH Filter Requirements, ISO Standards, and Face Mask Requirements.

• An entire session on the final day of the Conference will be devoted to Nanofiltration. Papers will be presented by speakers from Donaldson, Ahlstrom, Finetex Technology, Hollingsworth & Vose and Hills, Inc.

Another highlight of Filtration 2006 will be the annual Best Booth Competition, which will recognize the best booths in both the Large and Small Booth categories. The recipients will be announced in the Day 2 issue of the Daily Filter, the official Show Daily newspaper of Filtration 2006.
