Fourteen technical papers recognized for excellence at annual nonwovens
industry technical meeting
CARY, NC – March 8, 2007 — The latest technical research in the nonwovens
industry was presented at the recent International Nonwovens Technical Conference
(INTC) in Houston, Texas, and the recipients of the INTC 2006 Best Papers competition
were announced this week by INTC co-sponsors INDA and TAPPI.
The overall winner of the INTC 2006 Best Paper is Steven J. Russell, University
of Leeds (UK), for his paper “Structure and Properties of Hydroentangled
Spacer Fabric Delivery Systems.” Russell received a $1000 award for this
recognition.
Almost 400 professionals from industry and academia heard more than 70 technical
papers during INTC 2006, held last September in Houston. The annual technical
conference is co-sponsored by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry,
and the Nonwovens Division of TAPPI, Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper
Industry.
“Technical innovation has always driven the nonwovens industry and INTC
has a well-earned reputation for providing a venue for researchers and scientists
from around the world to present their work to their peers,” says INDA’s
Technical Director, Cos Camelio. “The papers chosen as the best at INTC
2006 reflect the innovation and creativity in research and development.”
