Dozens of Technical Papers from Around the World
The joint INDA and TAPPI event will also feature program on dyeing and finishing nonwovens sponsored by AATCC CARY, N.C. — May 31 2005 — The present and future of technology in nonwovens and engineered fabrics will take center stage at the International Nonwovens Technical Conference (INTC), set for September 19-22, at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis, Mo. More than 70 presentations by speakers from around the world will be highlighted during the four-day Technical Conference, which is co-sponsored by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, and TAPPI, Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. In addition, for the first time a separate program co-sponsored by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) -- Nonwovens Enhancements: Innovations in Coloration and Finishing -- will be held in conjunction with INTC to spotlight these value added processes for nonwovens. The full-day session on Monday, September 19, will focus on innovative patterns and structures; coloring and printing techniques; performance finishes and surface treatments for product enhancement and market leadership. The AATCC event is a unique addition to what is already the largest, most important gathering of the year of the nonwovens and engineered fabrics technical community. “The combined efforts of INDA and TAPPI, along with the contribution being made this year by AATCC, make INTC a must-attend for the technical community from around the world,” says Cos Camelio, Technical Director at INDA. “The range and depth of topics being covered at INTC 2005 is extensive." Other highlights of INTC 2005: * The Keynote Presentation — “Diapers & Nonwovens: Full Load of Raw Material Increases …. Prospects for Relief or Just More to Come?” — will be given by Ian Julian, Director of Synthetic Fibers at CMAI. He will provide insight to oil dynamics and their price impact on polypropylene, polyester and cotton, a hot topic in the industry. * Two dynamic tutorials — Six Sigma and Modeling (process, product and performance modeling) — will focus on applying theory to real world situations. * The New Technology Showcase will feature 15 speakers that will provide information on new products, services and technologies. After the Showcase, more than 30 corporate and university representatives will set up tabletop displays for further information and networking. * A Student Poster Session and reception will offer opportunities for one-to-one interaction between students and conference participants. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network and make contacts with other attendees.
