Doing Business In China Seminar
Being Hosted By INDA in 2006

Two-day event will help member companies develop a global production, marketing and sales strategy.

CARY, N.C. — October 3,, 2005 — The increasing importance of China as both a producer and consumer of nonwovens and engineered fabrics is the focus of a unique new educational seminar, “Doing Business in China: Focus on Exporting,” to be held March 28-29, 2006 in Cary, N.C.

Presented by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, exclusively for its member companies, this first-of-its-kind event will take an in-depth look at what it takes for U.S. companies to do business in the world’s most populated country. Even companies currently doing business in China will benefit from the expertise of the instructors. It is geared towards small and medium-sized companies and is organized by the Business and Industry Center at Wake Technical Community College in cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Commerce International Trade Division.

“As the world of business becomes smaller – and the influence of Asia in general and China in particular becomes even greater – it is imperative that domestic companies looking to expand internationally have a plan for doing business in this region,” says Rory Holmes, president of INDA.

“INDA member companies, particularly smaller and medium-sized manufacturers who have yet to develop a global strategy, need to make China an important piece of their business plan. These two days of instruction and networking will set them on the right path toward developing this strategy,” Holmes adds.

Among the topics to be covered in the seminar:

  • Secrets to Profitability
  • Where to Begin; Market Entry Strategies
  • Registering Trademarks
  • Logistics and Financing
  • The Chinese Culture and Business Protocol

Instructors in the course include CPAs, top executives, bankers, freight forwarders and attorneys with successful international experience, especially in China.

The course is limited to 40 people and the cost is $300 per person. It will be held at INDA headquarters in Cary.
