COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT: Cary, NC — February 22, 2005 — Spunbonding & Meltblowing Fundamentals in Nonwovens is an advanced nonwovens course jointly produced by INDA and NCRC (Nonwovens Cooperative Research Center at NCSU). The course is scheduled April 25 – 29, 2005 at INDA Headquarters, Cary, North Carolina. Spunbonding & Meltblowing Fundamentals in Nonwovens is an in-depth learning experience in raw materials, technologies, end-use products and testing/application. Coursework includes market forecasts as well as lab experience at NCRC. Cos Camelio, Technical Director, INDA, stated, “This is our second offering of Spunbonding & Meltblowing Fundamentals. The first offering was well received by participants and we have incorporated their suggestions for improving this advanced training course. Therefore, future participants who are involved with meltspinning in the R&D, manufacturing, production, maintenance or technical role will benefit from the knowledge they gain from this enhanced course.” Course Content: * Properties of polymers and fiber formations including the role of bicomponent fibers. * Spunbonded and meltblown processes. * Manufacture and composition of laminates/composites. * Converting techniques consistent with spunbonded and meltblown technologies. * Methods to test and evaluate materials. This course is designed for professionals involved in R&D, manufacturing, product development, production, maintenance and plant operations with a BS degree in engineering or textiles.
