Taiwan-Made ‘Smart’ Disposable Diapers to Hit Market This Year

What will they think of next? Apparently, the answer is electronic adult incontinence disposable diapers for older, chronically ill patients. Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute has teamed up with three manufacturers in order to develop these diapers. The diapers have sensor modules which can alert healthcare givers as to when the diaper needs to be changed (you’ll never guess how – read the article to find out). In the future, these smart diapers could even connect with other medical equipment through security systems or cable TV. Amazing.
