Modern flexible packaging is extremely efficient and environmentally friendly. However, due to the use of incompatible materials in the films that make flexible packages, recyclability has been a challenge. The Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics organization has been developing new materials and film designs that are suitable for a variety of applications and can also be recycled in store drop-off recycling streams. Specific needs of packaging for wipes, and ways to implement recyclable wipe packaging, will be presented.
