Shale Gas Fuels US Ethylene Production

The Asia-Pacific market slowing down? That doesn’t seem quite right, does it? Well, the Asia-Pacific ethylene market hasn’t exactly come to a grinding halt, but US manufacturers are still looking to cash in and be more competitive on a global scale due to a downtick in growth in that region. Most people are well aware of all the talk of the US shale gas boom and how this boom could be a game changer for US manufacturing. As evidenced by the Lower 48 States Shale Plays map, there is a lot of potential in the US and there could be some steady growth (predicted by be 4.3% CAGR through 2017 according to this article). It will be interesting to see how the next few years play out.
