Diapers: Smart & Sustainable

Leading the Upcycling of Absorbent Hygiene Products

P&G serves nearly 5 billion people around the world and has one of the strongest portfolios of trusted, quality and leadership brands. In order to continue serving the world's consumers, we believe, and have publicly committed to doing what is right and being a good corporate citizen.

Environmental Sustainability is in line with P&G's mission to improve the quality of life of the consumers now and for generations to come. It is an essential part of P&G's daily work, and an opportunity for growth, innovation and leadership. We believe that diaper recycling is good for our consumers, good for the planet and good for business. It fits with P&G's vision on zero waste. As a company committed to doing the right thing, P&G is taking leadership in this project: We brought a unique diaper recycling technology to life in Italy, together with Fater, a Joint Venture of P&G and Gruppo Angelini, that upcycles nearly 100% of used diapers. The technology is creating secondary raw materials for higher value applications. We have a proven technology, are now actively looking to validate this at scale in the real world. We announced to launch it in the Netherlands in Amsterdam, and we also announced to bring it to India, to the city of Pune.
