Kelheim Develops Water Repellent Viscose Fibre

Most people know that viscose fibers absorb liquids very well. But were you wishing for a viscose fiber that repelled liquids? Kelheim Fibres is granting that wish with their new fiber called Olea. The hydrophobic effect on the fiber won’t be washed out either thanks to a change in their manufacturing process. Kelheim is marketing Olea as an alternative for cover and back sheets for hygiene products with the added benefit of being environmentally-friendly. Very interesting.
