AFC (Advanced Flexible Composites) joins INDA

Chris Lewis, President, AFC (Advanced Flexible Composites)

Lake in the Hills, IL – June 6, 2018 – AFC (Advanced Flexible Composites) has joined INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry. President Chris Lewis (right) remarked, “AFC is excited to partner with INDA and learn from their industry insights. We look forward to sharing 30 years of PTFE belting knowledge with members of the nonwoven community.”

AFC manufactures belting used in the production of high loft nonwovens, which are textile fibers bonded together to form a fabric. These materials can be found in insulation and padding for clothing, comforters, furniture, and mattresses, among others. This process uses AFC’s DuraFlow® PTFE-coated fiberglass mesh to facilitate hot air circulation while also preventing the fibers from sticking to the belt. Widths up to 200” are now available.

Based in Lake in the Hills, IL, AFC provides high temperature and non-stick manufacturing solutions to a variety of industries. Additional facilities include a Specialty Belting Division/East Coast Distribution Center in Vermont, South American operations in Mexico, and European/Asian operations in Italy.
