Conwed announces new High-Temperature Netting Capabilities

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (August 10th, 2015) – Conwed, the leading plastic netting manufacturer in the world, announced its new manufacturing capabilities to produce netting with high-temperature resistant features. Conwed netting can be used to support, contain, reinforce and pleat filter materials in gas, engine, fuel, oil, hydraulic, paint and other liquid filtration applications. High-temperature resistant resins such as Polyamide 6 (Nylon) and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) provide an alternative to steel and fiberglass mesh used in certain filter applications.

In a growing number of industrial applications, manufacturers require high-temperature resistant materials. Conwed manufactures extruded netting and cylinder tubes with resins that withstand high temperatures and tough usage conditions. “Our engineering teams thrive on pushing the limits of our technology and exploring high-temp resistant features was a natural step towards expanding our industrial portfolio. We collaborate with our customers to design the netting characteristics for each final application and we strive to provide a reliable synthetic netting alternative for diverse high-temp applications”, said Ivan Soltero, Strategic Marketing Manager at Conwed.

Although industrial applications utilizing plastic netting made with specialty resins such as Polyamide 6 (Nylon) and Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) remain a niche, Conwed believes providing a synthetic alternative to other high-temperature resistant materials such as steel and fiberglass mesh will be essential in upcoming industrial applications. “Synthetic materials do not exactly match all the features offered by steel and fiberglass materials, but providing high-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, strength and elasticity allow manufacturers to create new product designs and opens the door for future product innovation”, said Soltero.
