International Recognition for Technical Textiles Outreach & Research
Lubbock, TX, February 7, 2024 – In the International Congress in Sports Renaissance (ICTS 2024) held today (February 8, 2024), organized by National College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, India, it is heartening to report that Professor Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University, USA was given the Award for Professional Excellence.
Sport-tech, is part of technical textiles and the congress recognized his work in this field of technical textiles and for INDO-United States’ collaboration in promoting sustainable advanced textiles such as cotton-based technical textiles.
Dr. Ramkumar began activity in early 2000s, which created awareness in the field in many parts of India. USA-based Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) conducted “Link with India,” international conference in 2007 for which Ramkumar served as the Co-Chairman of the event.
The award was given in Tiruchirappalli, India by Honorable Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Cabinet Minister for School Education in the State of Tamil Nadu, India in the presence of Dr. K Kumar, Principal and Dr. Prasanna Balaji, Vice Principal of National College. The function was attended by many dignitaries.
Advanced textiles is a job creation field and finds applications in emerging areas such as sports, environment, automotives, etc.
