New York May Consider Furniture Flammability Rule

Uh oh. They say that as California goes, so does the rest of the country. California, last month, unveiled a proposal for a new flammability standard to avoid chemicals in furniture. And now New York firefighter associations are looking to get into the act. In fact, it is one of their top priorities in the New York legislature to ban toxic chemicals in furniture. Wonder who will be next? Will there be a national flame retardant standard anytime soon? To prevent different standards by state?
