CONWED brings netting capabilities to INDEX 2014

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (March 20, 2014) – Conwed, the leading plastic netting manufacturer in the world, will showcase its netting capabilities at INDEX 14, a nonwovens exhibition, in Geneva, Switzerland (Booth # 4203 – April 8-11, 2014). Organized every three years, the last edition in 2011 gathered approximately 12,600 trade visitors from every continent to see the products and services displayed by over 530 exhibitors.

Conwed has its European headquarters located in Genk, Belgium and their team provides support to all Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia inquiries. “We believe INDEX is one of the highlights of the nonwovens industry worldwide. It allows us to share how our netting components can provide lightweight reinforcement to different substrates and how our netting capabilities help our customers create truly unique products”, said Ruben Snoeks, Business Development Manager at Conwed.

Among the products showcased at INDEX, Conwed will be presenting its newest development in their elastomeric netting portfolio, Flat Rebound®. The new Flat Rebound® is the latest addition to a wide range of elastomeric options that Conwed offers to manufacturers of adult incontinence briefs and underwear, baby training pants, therapeutic wraps, bandages and other consumer product applications. “Our elastomeric netting is steadily gaining awareness in the industry as an exceptional alternative to other stretch materials such as spandex, films and elastic nonwovens. This new configuration with flat joints allows manufacturers to create smooth and stretchable composites for superior comfort and feel”, said Ivan Soltero, Strategic Marketing Manager at Conwed.

In addition, Conwed will be displaying different configurations of its co-extrusion netting technology. Co-extrusion is a multi-layer extruded netting than can be subsequently oriented where different polymers can form different layers on the same netting configuration. It is a square netting construction and Conwed has the ability to build netting with A/B, A/B/A, and A/B/C layer combinations. “Our R&D and engineering teams are able to identify our customers’ performance needs and create precise netting configurations with the right properties. Our netting provides essential reinforcement but can also be the bonding agent in diverse composites”, said Snoeks.
