Elsner Acquries Rights to SCM Slitter Inc.’s Element Trim Saw

ELSNER Deepens Commitment to Designing and Building Machinery for Filtration Industry

September 19, 2019, Hanover, PA: ELSNER has announced the purchase of the design and IP rights to SCM Slitter Inc.’s Element Trim Saw. The trim saw is designed to quickly and efficiently trim the ends of industrial liquid filtration elements, such as spiral wound reverse osmosis filters. The acquisition is a logical ‘next step’ for ELSNER who has been building automated folding, gluing and rolling machinery for the filtration industry for nearly 20 years. With that experience, ELSNER has been looking to take a larger role in the filtration industry as a part of their continued growth and strategic planning.

“When we are designing and building our equipment, we are always thinking ‘what is next?’ and ‘how can we be a better partner to our customers?’” said Jay Roth, ELSNER’s Director of Sales. “We know that working out a deal with SCM was the right thing to do for our customers. We knew they had already built a proven machine, so acquiring that technology was our best path.”

SCM has built and installed their element trim saw machines for several leading companies in the filtration industry. In agreement with the key players at SCM, ELSNER will take full control of the Element Trim Saw and offer support to all existing SCM trim saw machinery. SCM is pleased to pass the trim saw reins to ELSNER, and sees this as an opportunity to give more focus to their other product lines and areas of expertise.

“We were very impressed with the ELSNER company history, operations and wide range of machinery,” said a statement from SCM Slitters, LLC. “Their machine for constructing filter elements with its robotics and operating precision is awesome and reflects their commitment to the filtration industry. While we will miss the customer interaction and the satisfaction of building and further developing the trimmers, we realize the future of the product is in good hands.”

Filtration is one of several key initiatives ELSNER is undertaking to maintain their current growth trajectory. A formal launch of their filtration initiative will occur at INDA’s FiltXpo on the Navy Pier in Chicago in February 2020. Visit booth 410 at the show or contact ELSNER with any questions or inquiry.
