Graphene, Intelligent Fabrics, Nanofibers Among Event Highlights

Cary, NC. Jan. 26, 2015 – Leading-edge speakers will look at “what’s next” in engineered materials – from graphene and nanofibers to intelligent fabrics and wearable electronics – at INDA’s Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics Conference (RISE®) and Nanofibers for the Third Millennium (N3M), Feb. 9-12, in Miami, Fla.

INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, announced the final program with the full lineup of speakers, special events, networking opportunities, tabletop exhibitors, and RISE® Durable Product Award finalists is now available online at: www.inda.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/RISE2015Program.pdf.

Among the cutting-edge sessions will be presentations on game-changing methods being used to make graphene commercially economical that will be vital for manufacturers of nonwoven substrates, material suppliers, and end-product manufacturers to know. Graphene is a revolutionary, transforming technology that could significantly impact nonwovens.

Other timely RISE® sessions include presentations on market opportunities in the explosive $14 billion textile/stretchable wearable electronics market, materials for soft and wearable robotics, ecological textile finishing, and ceramic and metallic materials. Attendees also will learn what Western companies need to know about intellectual property rights and innovation in China to protect ideas here and abroad.

RISE® is the only conference that looks ahead of the technology curve, the event features top researchers, scientists, academia and thought leaders from around the world speaking on the latest advanced materials, processes, and technology.

It will bring together today’s most prescient leaders in materials research and innovative science as applied to engineered fabrics to share discoveries and developments that could impact the use of nonwovens in medical, energy, transportation, hygiene, filtration, and other markets.

The N3M symposium, exclusively on Feb. 12, highlights major nanofiber application areas and manufacturing processes, including Air/Liquid Filtration, Life Sciences (wound care and tissue scaffolding), and Energy Storage (fuel cells and battery separators).
